Review Of Samsung UA55JS9000 SUHD TV

Image
After introducing its new range of 4K TVs at CES, earlier this year, Samsung has finally brought some models to India including its curved 4K TV. Samsung likes to call these TVs SUHD TVs with the S prefix symbolizing superior picture clarity, wider colour gamut and improved brightness as the company has used its Nano Crystal technology. Samsung claims the TVs offer elevated brightness up to 2.5 times brighter than conventional TVs, and twice the colour adjustment points for accurate colour reproduction. These are also the first Tizen OS-powered Samsung TVs. We've been using the 55-inch variant of Samsung's JS9000 SUHD range to try to find out if it's the best 4K TV available at this time...  Build & design Samsung JS9000 sports a sleek metal frame with slim, narrow bezels surrounding the panel. It's got a brushed silver finish. The back, meanwhile, has a wrap-around metallic plate with a shirring pattern (raised vertical lines) that looks exquisite even th...

New Apple TV is coming in September

Image
Apple Inc will launch the next generation of its Apple TV set-top box in September, with a new remote and support for Siri voice control, online publisher BuzzFeed has reported.  The new Apple TV will have a slimmer chassis, a "drastically improved" remote with touch-pad input, increased on-board storage and an operating system that will support Siri, BuzzFeed said, citing sources familiar with the matter.  The device will be launched with its own App Store and a software development kit for app developers, the website said.  Apple did not immediately respond to phone calls seeking comment.  The Apple TV has not been refreshed since 2013.  The iPhone maker was expected to unveil a new version in June at its annual Word Wide Developers Conference, but it launched the Apple Music streaming service.

Some invaluable ideas from people who have been there and done that. - Warren Buffett: Exercise humility and restraint   In a 2010 interview with Yahoo!, Berkshire Hathaway chairman and CEO Warren Buffett said the best advice he ever received was from Berkshire Hathaway board of directors member Thomas Murphy. He told Buffett:  "Never forget Warren, you can tell a guy to go to hell tomorrow — you don't give up the right. So just keep your mouth shut today, and see if you feel the same way tomorrow."  During this year's Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting, Buffett also told a curious 7th-grader that the key to making friends and getting along with coworkers is learning to change your behavior as you mature by emulating those you admire and adopting the qualities they possess.  - Maya Angelou: Make your own path   In her book "The Best Advice I Ever Got," Katie Couric quotes author, poet, dancer, actress, and singer Maya Angelou:  My paternal gr...

Speed Fetch app claims to be faster than 4G

Image
Speed Fetch is offering free downloadable video content through Wi-Fi hot spots across the country at speeds up to 60Mbps, or higher than what 4G and 3G mobile connections offer today.  NEW DELHI: 4G and 3G could well be passe if a new mobile application manages to deliver on its promise. Speed Fetch is offering free downloadable video content through Wi-Fi hot spots across the country at speeds up to 60Mbps, or higher than what 4G and 3G mobile connections offer today. For example, a 100MB video can be downloaded in less than 30 seconds on Ozone Wi-Fi network from the app, compared to one minute on 4G and nine minutes on 3G. While the company promises speeds up to 60Mbps in ideal situations, executives said actual speeds can vary between 15 and 30Mbps depending on the customer's location, signal strength at that location and the number of people using WiFi network at that time. But the app does not promise just faster downloading speed. It also offers...

Apple iPhone 6 can now be sold in China, after the firm received a license for the device to be used on China's wireless networks. Apple Inc is preparing for the largest initial production run for its next iPhones by the end of the year, the Wall Street journal reported. The company is asking suppliers to manufacture 85 million to 90 million units of two new models with 4.7-inch and 5-inch displays. The company had ordered 70 million to 80 million of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year, in its largest initial production run so far. The new phones are also expected to feature Force Touch technology which can distinguish between a light tap and deep press, people familiar with the matter told the Journal. The information about orders came from Apple's suppliers, the paper added. Bloomberg reported last month that suppliers had started initial production of iPhone models with Force Touch, a technology already used in Apple Watch and MacBook laptop. The screen siz...
