First impressions: Samsung Galaxy J7

NEW DELHI: Over the last one year, we've seen the Indian mobile landscape take a different shape. Following the entry of brands like Xiaomi, phone makers have discovered they can cut intermediary costs and offer smartphones with mid-range or premium hardware at much lower prices by selling exclusively online. Since then we've seen flash sales and invite-only sales from the likes of Lenovo, Micromax, and OnePlus, and online-only phone models from Huawei, YU, Meizu, CoolPad and InFocus. Now, big players like Samsung, which were out of the online-only race (partly due to their large offline dealer and distributor networks), have also decided join the bandwagon. The Korean giant has launched Galaxy J7 and J5 4G-enabled Android smartphones that offer superior specifications compared to some higher-priced mid-range phones from the company.
