Former MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has suffered multiple injuries in a horror crash at the Suzuka 8 Hours in Japan.
Riding for Musashi Honda, the Australian was heading around a high-speed corner when he missed the apex and headed off the road.
However, the 29-year-old was carrying too much speed and his bike slid out from underneath him, sending him hurtling along the outside of the track as his out of control entry flipped dangerously back into oncoming traffic.
A safety car was immediately deployed by officials.
Left on his hands and knees, Stoner tried to crawl to the safety of the barriers before track marshals were able to reach him.
It has been reported the former Ducati and Honda rider suffered a broken right shoulder blade and a broken left tibia in the crash.
